I ordered candles to gift for our wedding guests and have never purchased from Madison before. The scent is amazing, we already regret not purchasing one for ourselves and can’t wait to fill our home with not only the candle but the incense as well. No.4 smells like a very luxe, expensive boutique hotel and is balanced in feminine and masculine tones - perfect for all and for gifting to anyone. The candles were packaged carefully, none were broken and all in custom boxes. The shipping was fairly quick especially for the holiday season. Finally, we love that Madison is non-toxic, perfect for families and pet owners alike , and that the candles will last as soy candle burn takes much longer. Will certainly repurchase!

I have been searching and searching and searching for a perfume with the notes that this one is described as having. So far, no luck, including with this one—there is a distinct smell of pickles. I’m not sure what exactly causes this in the fragrance, but I’m afraid that this is a no-go for me except for *maybe* the perfume oil every now and then. It dries down to a generally non-pickle scent when I apply it to my body and sweat a bit throughout the day, but otherwise the pickle notes just ruin this fragrance for me. :-(

Save your money. I read that this fragrance was a dupe for the Le Labo Santal 26 candle. The smell is pretty if you love sandalwood as much as I do. Unfortunately there’s no projection. The fragrance is faint and at this price point you want something that throws. This does not do that. I wanted to love it, and I just…don’t.

I bought this candle as a “dupe” for the Le Labo Santal candle. It’s close, but honestly it stands on it’s own and has exceeded my expectations. I used to work for Jo Malone London and Diptyque selling candles at double and triple the price point for the size so I know what to look for in a good candle - good scent throw, clean burn and no tunneling (tunneling is where there’s leftover wax around the outsides - wasted wax is wasted money). This candle has a great scent - warm and cologne-like. Perfect fall/winter scent. I get complements every time I burn it and even when the candle isn’t burning I catch the scent of it as I walk by. There is also zero tunneling - wax burns evenly all the way down (see image). I’ve ordered two and am back for two more.

Pro tip: trim your candle wick to ~1/4” before each burn. Smaller wick = smaller flame = more burn time.
